Getting ready
How to prepare for your studio day.
You don't need to be an expert. A little planning goes a long way. Here's a simple checklist.
Before you come
- Write down what you want to say, or a few questions if it's an interview.
- Confirm your camera person and gear: cameras, batteries, memory cards and tripods.
- Pick your outfits. Plain, solid colours look best on camera.
- Eat something and drink water before you arrive.
- Shooting more than one video? List them in order so nothing gets missed.
On the day
- Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in.
- Put your phone on silent.
- Talk to the person in front of you, not the camera, unless you're speaking directly to your audience.
- Pause for a second after an important point. It makes editing much easier.
- If something goes wrong, no stress. Just start that part again.
We'll have the lights and mics ready when you walk in, and our team is around if you need a hand.
